Yarkhill Cottage

A Barn conversion in little hamlet of Yarkhill near Hereford, the original barn was stripped back, all the brickwork and beams sandblasted bringing the building back to a shell, ready for the conversion works.

The barn is split into 2 separate holiday lets, with the option of opening a set of doors between the 2 dining areas allowing the whole building to be let to a large party without segregation. both were equally well equipped with large french doors opening out into the garden, high spec kitchens with AGA range cookers, woodburners in the snug areas and rustic timber features throughout, including the solid timber staircases constructed in keeping with the original timbers on show.

In addition to the high level of finish generally, where one of the properties is outfitted to allow wheelchair access to the downstairs bedroom and facilities for disabled guests, the other has an entire gable glazed built to match the original beams and copper bath for added luxury.

Outside located in its own grounds next to the owners house and with access to the connected orchard, There is another building fitted out with a bar to further encourage the use of the whole space.

Life House

A Substantial project in Mid Wales, the property was built for Living Architecture to plans penned by John Pawson Architects of London.

The building is a single storey structure consisting of 3 bedrooms, a kitchen/living area and contemplation space. built with a multitude of unique materials from across the world including Danish bricks, European Douglas Fir, Italian Terrazzo, German Zinc and many other bespoke items to tie the building together.

Construction is masonry inside and out with contrasting black and white brickwork signifying the separation between areas of the house. The ceilings are Douglas Fir throughout to give the impression of continuous grain. the timber is also used in the majority of joinery in the property, most of which is bespoke to fit the space and to maintain continuity. other items include precast terrazzo basin for the bathrooms, solid stainless steel worktops and custom forged wall hooks and shelves to achieve the finish required by the architects.

Kerry Farm

A smallholding near Newtown, the works were carried out to make full use of the site for people with disabilities or special needs that would normally prevent them being able to experience an outdoor/farming environment safely.

this included refurbishment of The existing farmhouse for staff and indoor activities, Conversion of the outbuildings into disability friendly accommodation and amenities, separate accessible facilities for cleaning following outdoor activities and extensive landscaping and pathways throughout the area to allow easy access to all areas.

This included, amongst other things, access to the paddocks to tend to the menagerie of goats, sheep, and rare breed chickens and the use of the polytunnel to grow plants and crops with elevated planting beds for those in wheelchairs or difficulty bending to lower levles.
